Many people mistakenly believe that that they do not need to make a Will, as the rules for dying intestate – without leaving a valid Will - would give effect to their wishes.The reality of this situation can often be a nasty shock for family and dependents.
Succession to Spanish property owned by a British person will be governed by British Law. Other foreigners of other nationalities will be subject to their own national law (Art.9 p. 8 of the Spanish Civil Code).
