Threatened with eviction on various occasions and suffering from a health condition, Janet has been trying to reach an agreement with her bank for several years, but has now learned they plan to sell her home from under her. ... The news follows campaign groups Save Our Homes Axarquia’s (SOHA) announcement that around 20,000 homes are at risk of being demolished after they were unwittingly built on non-urban land. ... Former social security councillor in Teulada, Sylvia Tatnell was honoured by the British ambassador for encouraging expatriates to integrate.
 
The event, organised in conjunction with British citizens in Spain group Brexpats and the Diputacion de Alicante... The main topic discussed was the subject of citizens’ rights and how that is one of the top priorities for the British Government in the negotiations with the EU. ... Ambassador Simon Manley ... said: “Good progress has already been made in the negotiations and we are within touching distance of a deal in citizens rights. My team of consular staff and I have been speaking face to face with British citizens across Spain, including yesterday in Alicante, to ensure that the concerns they raise around healthcare, pensions and residency rights are understood by the UK negotiating team and reflected in their discussions with our EU partners about our departure from the EU".
 
...los datos siguen señalando a los compradores extranjeros como puntales básicos de la recuperación inmobiliaria aunque con un peso algo inferior al de años anteriores por la progresiva vuelta al mercado del comprador nacional. Málaga, con el gran atractivo que ejerce la Costa del Sol en el segmento del turismo residencial, se coloca como la cuarta provincia de España con mayor porcentaje de compra de vivienda por parte de foráneos, según el Colegio Registradores. En concreto, el 29,62% de las viviendas que se vendieron el último trimestre en Málaga fueron comprados por extranjeros. Tenerife encabeza la lista con un 40,4%, seguida de Alicante (40%) y Baleares (30,2%).
