Lliber mayor Juan Bautista Reus held a public meeting along with the deputy mayor and town hall lawyer to talk to residents about hunting laws, local fiestas and urban issues.

Although it was the last item on the agenda, town planning issues drew most attention.

Speaking to a full house in the local theatre - of whom the majority were expats - the mayor assured residents that the town hall is working effortlessly to try and find a solution with meetings taking place in Alicante and Valencia over the illegal building case.

He said all reports that have been submitted are available for the public to see in the town hall and he believes that the Plan General is the only solution. He added: "Despite trying to find numerous solutions, it is going to take a while and we cannot speed things up.
