Four arrested and one suspect on the run in Mojacar-based scam

Four Britons have been arrested on suspicion of committing credit card fraud on a large scale following a joint operation involving the National Police and the Guardia Civil.
 
The accused, all Mojacar residents, include alleged gang leader Steve A., 43, his 32-year-old partner Yvette D., J.T., 22, and 62-year-old Gary F..
 
The gang allegedly pocketed more than 100,000 euros during the course of a year by setting up fake travel agencies on the internet, a mobile telephone service and point of sale terminals.
 
The front companies included Playaway Weekends, Cricket Travel Ltd and Sports Travel International.
 
The four are also facing charges related to document forgery and vehicle theft after police seized two cars that were stolen in the UK.
