... and chemists go back on strike again over unpaid bills by Valencian government

Costa Blanca News | Noticia

HEALTH centres and hospitals in the Valencia Region have been ordered by the health authorities to display signs showing how much each treatment costs and to ensure that they check the identity of everybody in possession of a SIP card.

In a letter sent out to the various health departments in the region, health chiefs have stipulated that anybody who produces a SIP card without identification to prove who they are or anybody who does not have a valid SIP card or other form of documents that allows them to receive treatment, must be charged the current rate for the assistance they receive.

A list of prices is also to be displayed so that people are left in no doubt as to the costs of the treatment they are seeking. These prices range from €102 for urgent attendance, €140 for urgent treatment at home, €32 for ambulance service and €24.56 for a chest X-ray, among others.
