CALPE MAYOR Cesar Sanchez aims to improve lines of communication with the town’s English speaking population through a series of public meetings.

He hopes to explain steps taken during the first year in power at the town hall and inform residents of new moves being planned in the corridors of power – it is also an opportunity for people to make suggestions and air grievances.

The first meeting with mayor is being held at the Diamante Beach Hotel, Calpe, at 5.30pm on Tuesday evening (29th May).
Mr Sanchez sees the forums as “a tool of participation and collaboration” and hopes they will help improve the quality of life of Calpe residents.

“In this meeting I want to tell people the steps I have carried out in this first year in charge of the council and inform them of the new projects, proposals and ideas. I also want to hear people’s suggestions, complaints and ideas,” he said.

“For me it is very important people should attend this meeting and I am planning that, periodically, we can meet to present the various projects – and learn directly from residents the real problems of the people who form our community.”
